Driving Away the Cold

The cold that winter brings causes us to turn up the heat, put on an extra layer, and get comfortable. However, not everyone is fortunate enough to keep themselves warm during the grueling winter months. In fact, an overwhelming 506,000 children in Pennsylvania live in poverty and don’t have the essentials that they need in the winter. That’s why we at McCafferty Hyundai of Langhorne are proud to be a part of Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, and most importantly, the Driving Away the Cold program.

Help Us Keep the Children Warm

The Driving Away the Cold Program is a donation-based program that we support aims to help children during the rough winter months with the bare essentials, most importantly, with a warm and comfy coat. Through donations at our dealership, or on the Drive Away the Cold website, you can help us with our goal of donating 50,000 coats to children in the greater Philadelphia area. Coats are relatively inexpensive, and with our donation goals, we can help keep thousands of children warm this winter.

Getting the Coats to the Kids

The combined donations from our dealerships and you go towards purchasing warm winter coats to help children throughout the cold months and snowy months. Once the coats are purchased, we then rely on organizations that partner with us on Driving Away the Cold, like the School District of Philadelphia, Chester Upland School District, and various YMCAs throughout the greater Philadelphia area. They help distribute the thousands of coats that we were able to get through the donations.

Why We Need Your Help 

While Driving Away the Cold is an important cause that we take pride in, we can’t do it all on our own. We need your help! Winter is the time to give back and help support those in need, and helping them stay warm this winter is one of the best ways to help and give back. The cost of a coat is only $20, which can help keep one child warm and happy this winter. By donating, you can help us reach our goal of 50,000 coats!
